What do Baby Steps, Faith and Jumping Have in Common?

Faith is something we acquire by first taking small baby steps. We may know where we want to be, but our courage may be too small to get us there. So God sees to it that opportunities for growth regularly present themselves to us. We just need to be prepared to recognize them when they appear. Sometimes faith has to scare us a little and take us where we have never been before.  It is also knowing when our efforts stop and we let God take over.  That's why opportunities for faith are like standing on the edge of a cliff, closing your eyes and jumping without knowing for sure you will make it to the other side. You've done your part, then God takes over and breaks your fall. The expert jumper risks failure to find success alongside God. They know that jumping and failing is not terminal and that it is better to have jumped and fallen short at times, than to have never jumped at all.
